Winter in Alpbach

Ski­ing in the Alp­bach Val­ley is a varied Win­ter sports ex­pe­ri­ence in the moun­tains of the Kitzbühel Alps. From the be­gin­n­ing of De­cem­ber un­til April 21 lifts bring up to 21.000 ski­ing and snow­board­ing en­thu­si­asts up in­to the ski­ing ar­eas and 54 prime slopes await Win­ter sports lovers of all abil­i­ty lev­els.

The Alp­bach­tal ski­ing area is known for its varied range of ski­ing slopes. As well as 3 great val­ley runs the ski­ing area is al­so home to choice free ride pos­si­bil­i­ties to­wards In­n­er­alp­bach. Stand­ing at the Horn­lift 2000 (the high­est point of the ski­ing area) take in the amaz­ing vis­tas over the Alp­bach Val­ley peaks, the Ro­fan Range and the Ziller Val­ley.

Ide­al con­di­tions for fam­i­lies can be found in In­n­er­alp­bach, in Reith i.A. and next to the Horn­bo­den. Mag­ic car­pets, spe­cial chil­dren’s lifts and more pro­vide for easy ac­cess.

The 4 km long "Fam­i­ly run” to In­n­er­alp­bach is classed as medi­um de­gree dif­fi­cul­ty and is not on­ly the longest but al­so the most at­trac­tive run in the Alp­bach­tal ski­ing area. The run starts at the Pögl­bahn top sta­tion via route num­ber 8 and cont­in­ues on a gor­geous wide run through woods down to the val­ley and In­n­er­alp­bach. The uni­form gra­di­ent is ide­al for both re­lax­ing turns and for im­prov­ing carv­ing skills. Those want­ing to fit in one last run for the day should take the 8-seater gon­do­la, the Pögl­bahn to the mid­dle sta­tion and en­joy one of the most beau­ti­ful slopes in the ski­ing area - the Gal­ten­berg slope in In­n­er­alp­bach.
